HOW TO MEASURE WINDOWS for a price offer?

The results of the following instruction are only intended for making a price offer (and not for completion of an order!). If our representative has not verified the measurements presented by a customer on site, Aknakoda OÜ shall not be liable for the correctness of the presented measurements!

1. NEW CONSTRUCTION

Measure the openings of doors and windows. From the received measurements deduct 30 mm from width and 20 mm from height. In addition to the received measurements, submit the drawings of windows specifying the window grids etc.

OLD CONSTRUCTION

1. WOODEN HOUSE

Take the measurements from outside from casing to casing (width) and from the subsill to the top casing (height) and add 50 mm to both received measurements. This way you will receive the approximate width and height measurements of the window. If the window has grids, take the measurement from the casing to the middle of the grid. In addition to the taken measurements it would be good if you took a picture of the old window to be replaced.

OLD CONSTRUCTION

2. STONE OR PLASTERED HOUSE

Take the measurement of the external window opening (from jamb to jamb in width and from top of the subsill to upper jamb in height) and add 30 mm to both measurements. This way you will receive the approximate width and height measurements. If the window has grids, take the measurement from the jamb to the middle of the grid. In addition to the taken measurements it would be good if you added a picture of the old window to be replaced.
